Welcome meeting Call#1

📍 LPMMC, Grenoble
📅 July 11, 2023

On July 11, 2023, the QuanG team held the very first Welcome Meeting for the PhD programme, at LPMMC in Grenoble. The event officially welcomed the PhD students selected through Call #1.

First introductions and exchanges

Newly recruited PhD fellows attended with their supervisors. The meeting gave everyone a chance to get to know each other and to exchange ideas.

Each PhD fellow was invited to briefly present their thesis project, providing a snapshot of the wide range of quantum topics covered in the QuanG programme — from quantum materials to enabling technologies.

Overview of the QuanG doctoral programme

The project coordinator and team presented:

    • The objectives of QuanG,

    • The structure of the doctoral training,

    • The obligations of fellows and supervisors,

    • The benefits of the MSCA COFUND funding (mobility, secondments, training activities, etc.).

Introduction to the Data Management Plan (DMP)

A dedicated session was devoted to the Data Management Plan. The team explained:

    • What a DMP is and why it matters,

    • Best practices for research data management,

    • The key questions to consider when drafting a DMP at the start of the PhD.

This kickoff meeting laid the foundation for a well-structured and collaborative research experience, by opening a clear channel of communication between the PhD fellows and the team project.
